Which is the best APUSH review guide?

I want a really fantastic APUSH review guide to prep for the next year's test. I've heard AMSCO is very good, but I can't seem to find it at Barnes and Noble. Which review guide is concise, but still gives all the important details? REA was a disaster for me last year when I was prepping for AP Euro because it was so brief- I don't want to run into another situation like that.

Thanks!

  1. I swear, EVERYONE at my school uses REA. I didn't take AP, so I wouldn't know by personal experience. But I have yet to see a non-REA APUSH study book at my school.

  2. I tell my students to go to Barnes and Noble and look through the ones available. I think they are more useful if you get one that appeals to you with its organizational style. Some books are good review as you go through the year (Peterson's) and some are for you to review right before the test (Princeton, Baron's).

If you have a good teacher, a good text, are a good history student, and do your work, you should be fine.

I got my scores yesterday --- 92% pass rate!! I am a happy AP History teacher.

  3. I used AMSCO and it's awesome I highly recommend it. You have to order it online, but trust me it's worth it. I also had the REA one which I never used, I didn't like it. And I had 5 steps to a 5 which I though was good, but not as good as AMSCO.
