Best Beach in Essex?

What in your opinion is the best beach in Essex and why?

Dovercourt Bay in North Essex near Harwich claims to be very good and has a Blue Flag I think.  I'm not sure how it can be with all those big ships sailing close by out of Harwich and Felixstowe, but there you go.  It is however very quiet and unspoilt and always worth checking out if you want to travel back in time without having to go to the Isle of Wight.  Property prices are absurdly cheap in the area too.

Frinton on Sea & an added bonus is that the inhabitants are all really lovely, if not a little strange.
