OK I am looking for the best cookies you have ever had. I have been to all the site that's not what I need. I want a tried and true recipe of cookies that you had to keep eating cause they were the best you ever had. Preferably not your basic chocolate chip. Thanks.

  1. I've got the best Peanut Butter cookie recipe (big, and chewy) and also (of course) the best chewy choc chip.  Here's the Peanut Butter cookie recipe...if you like it, let me know and I'll give you the choc. chip cookie one.

    Peanut Butter Cookies

    2 ½ cups unbleached all-purpose flour

    ½ tsp baking soda

    ½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt (+an additional ½ tsp if using unsalted peanuts)

2 sticks unsalted butter, softened but still cool

1 cup packed light brown sugar

    1 cup granulated sugar

    1 cup extra-crunchy peanut butter

    2 large eggs

    2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup salted dry-roasted peanuts, ground in a food processor to resemble bread crumbs

    1.   Adjust the ovens racks to the upper- and lower-middle positions and heat the oven to 350 degrees.  Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.

    2.  Whisk   the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl; set aside.

    3.  Either by hand or with an electric mixer, beat the butter until creamy.  Add the sugars; beat until fluffy, about 3 minutes with an electric mixer, stopping to scrape down the bowl as necessary.   Beat in the peanut butter until fully incorporated, then the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla.   gently stir the dry ingredients into the peanut butter mixture.  Add the ground peanuts and stir   until just incorporated.

    4.  Working with a generous 2 tablespoons each time, roll the dough into 2-inch balls.  Place the balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 ½ inches apart.  Press each dough ball twice with a dinner fork dipped in cold water to make a crisscross design.

    5.  Bake until the cookies are puffed and slightly browned around the edges but not on the top.  10 to 12 minutes, rotating the baking sheets front to back and top to bottom halfway through the baking time (5 ½ minutes, rotate, 5 ½ additional min).  (The cookies will not look fully baked.)   Cool the cookies on the baking sheets until set, about 4 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack with a wide metal spatula to cool completely.

These are delicious, I hope you enjoy!!

  2. These cookies never last a *day* at our house.  They are addictive.

Good luck keeping the jar full!  ;)

I've been making that recipe for 7 years and every time I do my husband loves me just a little bit more, and so do all of his co-workers!  They (13 guys)  go through a double batch in one shift.  hehe

Just be sure to use margarine as it helps with the soft and chewyness and do not overcook.  I cook them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment and as soon as they come out, instead of leaving them on the pan for 2 minutes, I slide the parchment off with the cookies so they stop cooking.  They are to DIE for (eat too many, and you will).  I use good quality chocolate chips too.  Don't skimp, they deserve the best ingredients.

  4. Gooey Butter Cookies

8 ounces cream cheese (1 package)

    1/2 cup butter, softened

    1 egg

    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 18.5-ounce package yellow cake mix

    1/4 cup powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Add cake mix, and stir until well blended. Roll into 1" balls and then roll the balls in the powdered sugar. Place 1 inch apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks. Makes about 24

  5. I don't have the recipe, my mom found it online though. It is for Browned Butter Cookies. You cook the butter before you use it, and they come out soft and buttery and sweet. They literally melt in your mouth.

    I would try these: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Brown-Butte...

We didn't ice them. But once she did make sandwiches out of them with dark chocolate in between. They were also addictive.

    Good Luck
