Best European countries in winter?

Hi all

I am planning a three week trip in Western Europe around mid-February to early March in 2009. We are trying to figure out which countries will be the best to visit in such cold weather... we don't want to ski, but rather just do a lot of walking and sightseeing. Obviously the Scandinavian countries will be freezing cold, but what cities particularly would you recommend to visit? You know, a lot of European cities have beautiful lights and street things in the winter and are just a pleasure to be in... any suggestions would be sooo appreciated!!

Thanks:)

  6. Poland is beautiful in winter, what am I saying? Poand is beautiful all year round! There are plenty of monuments and architectures to see in Poland, oh and there are so many historical castles! Breathtaking! Poland has a lot of history, its definitly worth seeing. Castle Krasiczyn is stunning. The food is great also. Clothes and shoes are veeery cheap in Poland and great European designs.
