Who are the best current players? I am looking for players and the positions they play. I am looking for current players (who are neither retired or retiring) who are currently playingin the MLB, who coaches would give their right arms to have.

1B-Pujols (Berkman is playing better this year, but if you wipe the slate clean, you must take Pujols

2B-Utley (Phillips is not far behind and better than all AL 2B)

3B-Braun (but Wright is about equal)

SS-Hanley Ramirez - hands down, no question

OF-Beltran, C. Lee, Holliday (you could argue for a few others.

SP-Santana, Peavy, Webb, Lincecum, Haren, Hamels

RP-Wagner, Lidge

AL-

C- Mauer

1B-Morneau

2B-Kinsler (birth of a true superstar)

3B-ARod

SS-M. Young (but there aren't any great AL SSs)
