Best Restaurant in Croydon?

There are loads to choose from in Croydon - does anyone have any particular favourites that are really good? Money is not really an issue. Conversely are there any that I should definitely avoid? Am looking to take a friend out for a romantic evening ...

For something a bit different try Little Bay. I haven't been for a few years but a friend of mine has (since it's been done up) and thinks it's great. When booking, ask for one of the booths.

Bagatti's in South Croydon is good, according to my boyfriend's family who live in Purley.

I really liked Il Ponte, which is under the flyover. They have a website, so you could view their menu in advance.
