I'm looking to get hockey tickets for my dad's birthday at the Nassau Coliseum. What is the best area to sit in for a hockey game? As in what section should I try to sit in?

  1. i like behind the nett.

you can see the whole ice from there.

its very nice (: and you get to see both goalies

sit behind the goalie you like best.

  2. As long as you are center ice you should be able to see the game well, no matter how high up you are. The best seats are in the Lower VIP Section but those are expensive, even for the Islanders. It depends how much money you're looking to spend, just remember to try and get seats that are center ice.

  3. It is personal preference, but anywhere center ice (or between the blue lines) are good seats for overall viewing of a game. The closer to the ice you get, the more expensive the tickets are.  Just remember........

Any seats to a hockey game are good seats!

Be prepared for some joke answers to this question, especially from Rangers and Devils fans, as the Islanders haven't been a good team for a while now.

  4. It used to be behind the goal on your team's offensive side for two periods but with the protective netting its not AS good anymore.....

I would have to say aout 15 rows up on center ice.  I say this because you are high enough that you are over the glass when you look either way and still close enough to hear all the good stuff.

My personal favorite is row 1 of the top mezanine.  This is my favorite because there is absolutely NO obstruction.  You have your own ledge for your beer and sometimes evne a small protective pain of glass in front of you.  Also these seats tend to have more leg room than the others.

  5. I've never been to the Coliseum but personally when I go to games I like getting seats at center ice, so you can see everything.  Try to get seats in the middle tier, and not too far up or too far back.  If the seats are too far up you can't see everything.  And if they're too far back everything looks tiny.

  6. try to get in center ice,  also ur facing the benchs so u can see the players change.  but don't sit right at the glass sit maybe 5-10 rows up so u get a good view

  7. on the side so u can see the whole game

  8. In the Saddledome, I liked the seats in the front of the second tier, on one of the corners of the attack zone.  But I've only been to a few games in my years in Calgary.

  9. Behind the net is a pretty cool place to sit. Most people like center ice for between the blue lines. Near the players bench is my favorite because you can sometimes get players autographs if they are nice.

I've only sat there once and I got Rick Nash's autograph :)

  10. Depends on how close you want to be, the cost, and the best sightlines. If you are too close to the ice surface, you may not be able to see into the corners very well but you are closer to the action. You can also choose to watch the game either lengthwise or broadside.

Personally I like to see as much of the ice as possible as well as seeing the players' benches. So, if I were to buy tickets to an Isles game, I would try getting tickets in Sections 202 or 203.

If you go to the Isles webpage at the link below, select the Tickets droplist and click on Seats 3D, it will give you an interactive view of the seating arrangements, ticket prices, etc.
