  1. Walk down 32nd Street between Broadway and Fifth (near Macy's and the Empire State Building) - there are more than a dozen Korean restaurants - all price ranges - most have menus posted outside - there are specialties like BBQ and dumplings - read the menus and choose one -  they all serve little dishes of nibbles that are free - I love the pickled mango -Korean food's delicious.

My favorite Mexican restaurant is Del Valle Tehuitzingo on Tenth Avenue and 47th Street. Excellent prices, generous portions, very plain, but spotlessly clean. The servers are very pleasant, but service is usually very slow. They have a very extensive menu and daily specials, most of them aren't listed online.

  2. Le Bonne Soup

  3. Right in the heart of Midtown is a place called John's Pizzeria.  Awesome pizza!  Very fresh ingredients, and very affordable.  Pizzas are nicely sized.  We fed 4 adults and 3 children on two large pizzas, both running around $15-17 a piece.

  4. star dust dinner is the BEST place to eat, and you get free entertainment. the waiters SING on a stage they have and they have a band(mostly old songs, but still good). it was soooo cool and fun one minuet our waiter was serving us then he was on stage singing. it is near the play mama mia on broadway.

  5. carmines/italian

  6. oh you have no idea....., in little italy, EVERY RETURANT is amazing. Im not so sure, but theres this one vegan resturant, thats actaully preatty nice, their enchiladas are great.

  7. There are a lot of great places to eat...and yes a lot of them are expensive. But there are a lot of great moderately priced places too. You can get a cart gyro for like three bucks on most corners. I used to eat at an Indian place near Union Square that was reasonable. Can't remember the name off hand. Also Chinatown has many cheap places to eat.

Besides most New Yorkers will swear a place is the greatest while other New Yorkers aren't so fond. Try asking someone where to get the best pizza. You'll get a migraine hearing the arguments.

It comes down to personal taste. They have just about any kind of food you could think of in the city - and some you might not want to think about. You'll do better by just wandering and walking into whatever place draws you in.

Oh, and the best pizza is DiFara's on 15th and J in Brooklyn.

  8. For Pizza, Lombardi's in the village.

    For Chinese, Joe's Shanghai.
