Best small Christian charities?

Hi, I want to donate some money to a Christian charity (but one that does something other than evangelism, like one that does disaster relief or development or etc.) I know the big names like World Vision or Samaritan's Purse, but what are some good smaller charities that I could support? My money means more when it's going to a charity that doesn't have a hundred-million dollar budget. Thanks!

There are probably things in your area that you've overlooked! For example, I work for a church thrift store and we provide clothing and supplies for needy kids, household items for domestic abuse victims starting over and also those who have lost homes to fires. The church runs a food pantry for people who can't make do on a limited income.

I donate my money to a local church that feeds the homeless twice a week. The are a very small low budget church, yet they give more than most of the big, rich churches.

Most communities have a local ecumenical Christian organization that helps the needy; who runs your local food shelter?  who organizes food drives?  school supply drives?  Christmas gifts?  That is who you can give your money to.

Get it to our group. We are organizing a charity in the Phils for the needy kids  in the rural areas.

Heifer international is a good organization.  They help the poor and hungry throughout the world.
