Best time of year to travel?

Im traveling to either Mexico or the Carribeans, and I'd like to know when is a good time to travel that is kinf of the "off season." I don't want to go when everyone and their mom is there, but I'd still like to have great weather! (i.e., 90 degrees) I dont know when their seasons are in relation to ours, but ideally I would like to go sometime in August-November. Thanks for all the advice!

May.  It's right after everyone's spring break.  It's hot so most people won't want to go somewhere even hotter...but it's not too hot yet.  And it's not summer vacation yet.

off season to the caribbean is the spring... Jamaica is great this time of year and Air Jamaica is famous for it's Champagne flights.
