Best way to share internet connection?

Ok, here's the deal. My computer is currently connected to the internet via a rj45 cat 5e Ethernet strait (not crossed) cable that goes from my computer to a sat modem box.

I want to share this connection with my computer and my xbox 360, but I'm unsure of the best way to do it.

I know i can buy a router and a network card for the xbox, but that would total over 100 dollars, i'm thinking something cheaper.

Could I buy a network switch and share the connection with that? I know I know i would need to buy more cables. Is there a better way?

Any help appreciated.

I'd agree with shrimper. Linksys wired or wifi router good n cheap. and some cables. Any other config would be to slow for your Xbox or would not be a valid config that it could use.
