Budgies or Lovebirds? We will be getting 2 because we won't have a lot of time to spend with them. I just wanted to know as far as biting goes, which one is better? Also which one is cleaner?

  1. If you want a hand tamed parakeet or any other bird, go find a breeder in your own area who hand feeds their birds then buy one of them. Otherwise don't make it mean so much to YOU to handle them, that your feelings get hurt when they never tame up to you or act the way you want them to. Lovebirds especially are meaner than any breed of bird, so parakeets will be better for you if you try handleing them wild because their bite may draw blood but it so will love birds who are alot bigger then parakeets.

Niether love birds or parakeets are good to keep in pairs if you want your bird to remain hand tamed. Because once they bond they won't want anything to do with you handling them.

Otherwise either breed wild is good to have a pair of if you have no plans of handling them with your hands.

  2. Lovebirds can get messy and can develop bad habits you should get budgies they are cleaner and more interractive=)

  3. i hear love birds are messy, if one dies the other will soon, they cant talk. budgies are cleaner, can be trained to talk. easily tamed
