Biblical Saying?

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, Teach a man to fish, and he'll eat forever."

The book FINDING FISH by Antwone Fisher states that that is a biblical saying, but my english teacher disagrees.

Is this saying from the bible?

  2. No. It is not a Biblical saying. There are sayings that people refer to as "proverbs" that are just quotes people have made up.
