Big 3 please help?

Im upgrading my big 3 wire but do i have to put a fuse to the alternator to the battery or is it ok if i dont remov the stock wiring and just put a new without putting a fuse?

  1. for protection, add a fuse.

    if something goes bad, for example, you routed the wire wrong through a place that gets too hot and melts the jacket of the wire, then sparks will start to fly until the battery explodes.

    if a fuse is there and something goes bad, the fuse will just burn and the car wont catch on fire.

    its your car but i always add a fuse with the correct amount of amps for all my customers. they are not expensive at all and can save your car and... lol.... ppl will think you are stupid if the car catched on fire for  that little mistake.

    to the 2nd question, i would recommend you adding to the current wiring instead of taking it off. this will allow current a much better flow with less restrictions.


  2. i have always added the big 3 leaving the old wiring in place.

    you are then adding extra rather than new.

    and always use a fuse if it goes wrong the battery will explode and the car could catch fire.
