ok my bike chain keeps slipping i have a like 2006 or 05 model mongoose outer limits and my chain is slipping constantly i can find any broken links and my chain isnt really loose it seems to slip whenever i push down hard on the pedal or go to wheelie or jump it started happening when my chain slliped when i was racing a friend it slipped and now its doing it constant and i just replaced my back tube 3 days before this happened so can u guys please tell wt u think is wrong thnx

  1. If your chain is tight as you suggest, your rearcogs might be worn out. When the teeth wear out, they loose the ability to keep the chain in place. Otherwise, your chain might be worn out. Every chain link is an inch. If you remove the chain and 12 links are longer then 12 inches, replace the chain. It's an easy job with the proper tool.


  2. Ok first if ur going to be racing and jumping and such you should look for a new bike.

    second the reason why ur chain is falling off is because your chain is not tight enough it should be taut and moves less than an inch when putting a finger on it and pulling up.

    Also make sure you chainwheel/freewheel are not crooked.

    If there where any bikes i would recommend get a fit, colony. dk, kink , or hoffman.
