Bio-Diesel information?

Question

I have a card that runs on diesel fuel. I really want to use biodiesel instead, but i've heard many different things about how to cleanse the used vegie oil.

One video I saw ran the oil through a screen filter, then put some chemical in it to clean it and it all seemed rather confusing.

The other thing I have heard is that you can just run the oil through only a standard coffee and be done.

What is the REAL deal with preparing the used vegetalbe oil? If you have any personal experience, not just what you have heard, it would be great.

The main thing is to filter it so that the french fry will not stop up your injectors.

Does starving other nations make you feel better for "saving" the environment?

My understanding is that you can burn veggie oil right in your diesel engine, but it is thick and will gel at low temps.

To create bio-fuel you filter veggie oil then mix it with Lye and ethanol to make a more stable product. then you separate out the bio... gunk? there is a cellulose by product. It is biodegradable and some people use it in compost etc...

yeah i made some you need lye and methanol and you need to wash the biodiesel.  the lye will react and turn to soap i think. it was a really long time ago that i made it but look up some recipes on the internet they will walk you through the whole process
