Birth Control after baby?

Question

I just had my baby 6 days ago and I go to the doctor in 2 weeks and my doc said we would talk about bc then. I want to know whats the best. I got pregnant while I was on bc ortho micrnor, and I know we want to wait a bit before trying for another baby, like 1 1/2- 2 yrs. I want to wait, before having to go thru another c-section and the pain. So whats the best? And the side effects you had? Thanks!!!

I had my baby 7 months ago and I got the Mirena IUD afterwards. The only side effects I have had is irregular periods and more cramping with periods. I was on the Depo Provera shot before, one shot every 12 weeks. With the depo I gained like 7lbs the first year (total of 3yrs) and irreg periods the first 3 months. I have heard good things about the Nuva ring as well, except some partners complain that they can feel it. I personally prefer the IUD, its a 5 year deal, but you can have it taken out anytime before the 5 years is up. I know that its in there and I dont have to think twice about birth control for the next 5 years. Good luck to you

I just had my baby well shes 3 months but still LOL ne ways I got the Nuva Ring. You put it in and it stays for 3 weeks and then out for a week and so on I think its easy and you cant forget it. I also had a c section and you know you can not get preggo for atleast 9 months cuz you need time to heal, I havnt had  any side effects and im in my 3 month of it

Since having my daughter, I have been on BC pills-Ortho Tri Cyclen and had a Mirena IUD.  I personally hated the IUD.  My periods were much heavier and painful.  I was constantly stressed thinking the strings had disappeared and my husband complained about them poking him.  As for the pills, I suck at remembering them, but they're better than the IUD(for me) so I stick with them.  What birth control were you on before?  Did you like that?  If so, then you should probably go with what you've tried before and liked.
