  1. Birth to three matters is a developmental framework  used to provide support and guidance for anyone working with children between the age birth to 36 months(3yrs).

    The framework is divided into four age groups

    *heads up, lookers & communicators (0-8mths)

    *sitters, standers & explorers (8-18mths)

    *movers, shakers & players (18-24mths)

    *walkers,talkers &pretenders (24-36mths)

    As you can see the titles of the age groups are an indication of the stage of development the child is at and what is age appropriate for them for : example no one would exspect a 0-8mths old to walk etc.

    The framework is then subdivided into four aspects.

    * A Strong child

    * A Skillful communicator

    * A Competent learner

    * A Healthy child

    these are them split again, each into four catogories. it is quiet indepth to explain but basically its a developmental framwork. if this does not help post another question and I'll answer again tomorrow.
