Ok say I have a blackberry with gps(Im getting 1 soon)

how does the GPS work, is the gps service being charged to my service provider

or is it a free application used on blackberry, also why do people tell me u need bluetooth inorder for gps to work.

  1. The GPS radio inside the BlackBerry is only used for determining your position. You will need some sort of mapping program in order to get directions. The mapping program is what uses the GPS in order to determine your position, so it can show where you are in the map program. The mapping program is usually what costs money. However, Google Mobile Maps is free to use, and it can utilize the GPS radio inside your BlackBerry.


  2. Google Maps is a program download, similar to the web version you see from your PC.

    Blackberry Maps (comes with the phone) is also another good one.

    Both are free to use (if you have a data plan of course)
