Question:

Black greasy film in dishwasher - help!?

I did a load of dishes last night, which included a pot. I've placed these pots and pans in the dishwasher before with no issues. However, I used this pot on the burner of my grill. When I opened the door to put the dishes away the entire inside of my dishwasher was black. If you touch it it comes off on your hand. I've tried running empty cycles, scrubbing with lysol, and even with mr. clean. The black comes off, but not the dirty greyish film it's leaving behind. I don't know what to do, it looks horrible and I don't trust it to actually clean the dishes if that's in there. Anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on how to get it off? I'm at a loss.

  1. Try dark vinegar really strong listen and every time it fills add some more.If that doesn't work or any of the other ideas get some commercial ice machine cleaner and do it the same as the vinegar you can run the dishes along with it if it is on them but do a regular cycle after.

  3. Jet dry has this dishwasher cleaner out that you run in your dishwasher it is only like $4 you can get it at walmart and you run it in your dishwasher alone and when its done it really is very clean!

  4. there is a dishwasher cleaner called glisten. works great but hard to find. jet dry may make one as well. the cheapest way i've found to wash the whole machine is a packet of lemonade kool-aid. no joke. make sure it's regular yellow lemonade and not lemon ice. there's a difference. just dump the pack in the bottom of the dishwasher, no dishes, and put it on a regular wash. this should help.

  5. Run a cup of bleach through.=)
