  1. good picking now in no. pennsylvania

  2. I'm nursing the beating I took yesterday at the thorns of blackberries found in the Barrie, Ontario area yesterday.

  3. It is past the right time in some areas while  other areas are still in production.

Wild berries can be found along side back roads, edges of fields, old house sites, and other such open unmaintained areas.  LOTS of thorns.

Domesticated berries are usually found at farms featuring pick your own produce and fruit.

Look in your local news paper or visit a farmers market would be my suggestion.

  4. It depends were you live. In the Lower Mainland of British Columbia they ripen in September. The berries must be black to be tasty.

The wild Blackberries grow at the edge of forests, parks etc.

In my opinion the wild Blackberries - with nasty thorns - have a far better aroma than the thornless hybrids.
