Blasted flying ants?

does anyone know where is the most likely place to find the nest of flying ants please thank you

We just recently had an exterminator check our house because we were seeing flying ants too.  We thought they could be termites but he said that the flying ants live right in the ant colonies and at this time of year those flying ants start coming out in full force to look for new homes and start more colonies.  He said ants will look for damp wood within and around the house and to make sure foliage is cut away from the house and foundation.


  2. well it depends on what type ant you are actually dealing with, all ant species will have some with wings..if they are carpenter ants it can depend on again on what species of carp ant you have to know where to look...  for carpenter ants look for any loose material building up that they throw out of the colony, which will give the location away.  Probably 85% of all carpenter ants I deal with professionally (live in the South) have nothing to do with wood at all but rather just the hollow areas in such items as aluminum screens...storm doors / windows..etc
