Bleach in outdoor pool?

My mom just got an above ground 13ft x 36in swimming pool. It's the kind that fills when water is being put in, and it runs on filter. At the store, they were supposed to give her a starter kit, but they didn't, and they only sell the chlorine tablets at that store, which is 45 minutes away. In the mean time, until tomorrow or Saturday, can bleach be added to clean the pool? People WON'T be in the water when the filter is running (when bleach would be added) and how much bleach would get poured into the pool? A cup?

If this is true, then what Parts per Million is the pool supposed to be at when using this solution above?  I have a similar idea, but with a container that holds about 50 Gallons.
