Blu-Ray dvd player?

I am thinking about getting a ps3 with the blu-ray drive. If i don't have a special kind of tv (like hd movies with an hd tv) will the blu-ray be worthless?

Just get it, sure it wont look any better with the tv you have now, but it will benefit you in the future when you upgrade your tv and when movies only come out in blu ray

pretty much, because the high resolution of the HD picture will be downscaled to only have 480 lines of resoultion, so then it will be no different than a normal DVD.

I would get the ps3 and seriously think of upgrading the tv..

a 42 inch plasma if you look can be had for around 1000 bucks  make sure its 1080p

and blu ray looks fab on one..
