Blue Tooth home phones?

Question

If you have bluetooth capable land line phones AND bluetooth cell phones, I realize you can sync them and answer your lond line phone with your cell phone rings while you're at home. However, do you have to have an actual land line for the land lines phones to be useful? Or can you just use them as extra headsets so you don't have to carry your cell phone around constantly while you're at home?
