  1. Bad_pool_Caller is usually caused by a bad driver or kernel-mode process trying to perform a memory process. If you have installed any new hardware or updated drivers recently, this could be the issue. Remove recent software and/or drivers. If like me you are always updating drivers and installing software then your best bet would be to do a system restore back through the restore points until the error goes away. The name of the system restore point that rectifies the problem should give you a clue to which software/driver caused the problem and it should be safe to reinstall the others.

Failing that it could be memory failing, so get your self memtest and run it overnight. (It boots from a floppy outside windows.)

  2. Sorry Lc - you are probably going to have to rebuild your operating system.

First of all though try downloading up to date drivers for all your hardware and make sure you have the most up to date patches for all your software (operating system included).

BSODs are usually a result of the software getting in a totally befuddled state - wrong versions and incompatible versions of the main programs on your system can cause them - but not always.

Basically though BSODs happen because Microsoft doesn't understand something - and panics!
