Board or swim?

What is the difference between a board short and swim trunks other than one has a inner net?

Besides the obvious one that you mentioned (no inner lining) boardshorts are usually designed with a more durable material.  Being that they are intended for surfing which is a pretty physically demading sport, a high strength nylon material is used.  They are also designed to withstand the abuse of natural terrain that occur depending on where your break is.  These include corral, rocks, rough sand, etc. Most times, a standard bathing suit is made of a more flimsy material that is a little more comfortable to wear.  Basically, boardshorts are designed for performance and bathing suits are designed for leisure/comfort.

2 me theres a little difference the most minor is the one u said, but another differenceis the name/ brands  or even typesl, also the material or the design

Boardshorts are only lined if they are white or the pattern is somewhat see thru. They are actually designed to fit you for surfing.

Trunks are usually shorter and may or may not have a lining. They are shorter and tighter in the leg area.
