Boat speakers?

what is the difference between waterproof and water resistant boat speakers? please explain.

I'm not sure.

Most of the boats I work on have Bose saltwater speakers.

Most of the people I know seem to prefer them over others.

That's all I know.

Waterproof speakers are made to be submerged and still function, The cone will be made of a plastic polymer and all the coil wires are coated to prevent corrosion and shorts...

water resistant speakers can handle a splash or very quick submersion and are more prone to fail in salt water conditions due to corrosion
