To operate a Motorboat. You need a PCOC (pleasure craft operating card). It is valid anywhere in Canada. You can take it online, or call some marine stores around your area about writing the test.

If your water craft is fitted with a motor (whether it is turned on or not) you must have a Pleasure Card Operator Card.

I of course prefer to do it in person. Also calling yacht clubs, and sailing programs is good. Because Sailing instructors can teach and give Boat Licenses (i'm a sailing instructor).
