Question:

Body odor?

I don't know what''s wrong with me. I sweat a lot especially since it's summer. My body doesn't smell at all, but my clothes do! When my clothese come out of the laundry, they smell fresh, no bad odor. But after I sweat, my clothes especially my shirt part starts to have this really bad odor. I think it's from the sweat.

What should I do?

  1. Ok, I have the same problem (no, I'm not overweight...and I don't stink...I'm just sweaty).  You have officially skunked your shirts.  This happens when bacteria get trapped in the fibers of your shirts.  They're hard to get rid of...some people say vinegar works but it hasn't worked for me.  It's time to buy some new shirts.  Once you get new ones, be sure to wash them as soon as possible after wearing them.  Those nasty little bugs are reproducing like crazy in your hamper.  Also, a prescription deodorant helps but doesn't fix the problem completely.  I've found some sweat pads online that can be put in the armpit of your shirt but something about walking around with a maxi pad under my arms doesn't sit well with me.  You might feel otherwise...good luck to you and enjoy the rest of your summer :)

WARNING: DO NOT MIX BLEACH AND AMMONIA...UNLESS YOU WANT TO BURN YOUR LUNGS

  2. Change your top every day, refresh your deodorant as often as possible and also try a different brand of deodorant if you think it's not working well enough.

  3. 1. Drink alot of water

    2. Use a good deodorant

    3. Change clothes as often as you need to so they dont get smelly.

    4. Be patient, summer doesnt last forever :-)

  4. You should change detergents.  Your particular sweat is reacting in a negative way with the detergent you are using.  I had the same problem when my wife used Surf detergent.  By mid-day in the summer I smelled like a wet goat.  We switched detergents - actually to Tide - and haven't had the problem since.

  5. drink more water

use a STRONG deodorant like perscription strength

and try a cologne or perfume or body spray

changing clothes throughout the day also may help

  6. Even though your clothes smell fresh you probably aren't getting it all out of your clothes.  Mix some Clorox 2 with ammonia soak for 30 minutes then wash in hottest water safe for your fabric.  This should help. Something you can try for excessive sweating is Certain Dry it really does work.

  7. Wash thoroughly in the shower at least once a day.  Apply a good anti-perspirant and allow it to dry before dressing.  If your clothes smell then, unfortunately, you will, despite what you say.  There are some anti bacterial soaps that you can buy which may help.  Are you overweight?  Being overweight can cause excessive sweating.  Good luck anyway.

  8. drink water
