  1. Bottom four, if that. The football department took a major, major risk on a total loser, Matty Knights as the coach. I wonder if it will even be mid-May next season that the Bomber faithful will be asking "What was the footy department thinking when they sacked Sheeds?"

Need I say more? Essendon will never live this down. Kind of like Melbourne and the sacking of Norm Smith. Demons have been in two GF's since then, but no chance of winning. Kind of like the goat curse with the Chicago Cubs in Major League Baseball. It will be 100 years since the Cubs won a World Series in 2008.

  2. They will probably do better than my team the Dee's.

  3. I'd love to see them in the finals again but with such a young side and a new coach I'll be happy with them being competitive.

There should be an improvement from this year now the young blokes have a few games under their belts.

  4. They will move up, but i think they will just miss the 8

Will be interesting to see them play this year and watch what Knights has brung and added to the team and play style.

  5. I think they can make the 8.

They need a big year out of Hille and with Laycock steping up.

Forward Line looks good with Lloyf, Lucas and Davey

young guys like Jetta , Gumbleton, Dempsey, Ryder, Daniher, all looks the goods, so with a bit of luck i think about place 7 or 8, GO BOMBERS

  6. I hate to agree with Dubya too much but I think he has it right.  Totally unpredictable.  And they DO support their players and coaches.  I saw a special about young players being scouted and introduced to the club when young Ramanaskaus and company were starting out - they were very impressive in their program of support.

Remember also Sheeds is the first coach to move on from the club for about 20 years.  I have a feeling Knights (like Ayres at the Cats) may have been set up to fail in previous roles so I'll give him benefit of the doubt for the moment.

Short of a baby bomber miracle though, it's hard to see them making the 8 in the next year, maybe after that they'll be up there.

  7. If lucky will make 8.

    still in a rebuilding phase.

  8. hmmmm...tough one!!!

New coach..It could go both ways.

  9. they will finish 10th

  10. No good next year, hopefully they improve after that though. I like it when the bombers are going well.

  11. They will get an introduction to the SPOON, though they may get pipped at the post for that by Carlton.

  12. Will struggle to make the 8.  In a few years they will hopefully rise up and become a successful club again.

  13. i think definitely top 8 :  )

  14. Eleventh.

Still rebuilding, it will be interesting to see how Knights handles the coaching pressure.

  15. just out of the 8, around 9/10

  16. bottom half

  17. This is a difficult one to predict, mainly because of a new coach and coaching staff, new recruits, and possibly different training methods.

Essendon could finish up about 8th spot, due to a possible lack of physical and mental toughness. They need a few more years before they can play like Geelong
