Book for my AP Lit Class?

Question

Ok, so for my AP Lit Class we have to read a college level book. I like to read, but I don't at the same time (if you understand what I mean) The only books that I like to read are Gossip Girl and The It girl Series. My teacher gave us a list of books that we can choose from to read, but I don't know which ones to pick. Can you guys help me pick some books that would interest me enough to read?

CATCHER IN THE RYE

because it's a quick read and is very entertaining. I'm in AP Lit too, so just some advice: try not to fall in love with holden because the reason it's on this list (i think) is because you're going to have to question the narrator's psyche, criticize his narration, and overall just derogate his personallity.

Huck Finn is easy too, but not as east as Catcher in the Rye. I started reading it in like May just for fun, but I never finished it, if you know what I mean.

Ok, if you don't have a problem with understanding English from a century or so ago and you would prefer to read a romance, go with: Wuthering Heights (first pick), Jane Eyre, or Pride and Prejudice.

If you want the modern language, go with Catcher in the Rye, Invisible Man, or Native Son.

i'm reading pride and prejudice right now, and i like it- it's not the best thing ever but it's ok.

i've also been dying to read cacher in the rye. so that's what i'd probably pick- but we have very different tastes in book, i personally didn't like gossip girl much.

Would have to be The Catcher in the Rye. The chapters are quite short but can be thought provoking. Also it written from a teenagers point of view and doesn't have to many 'big' words. Not to mention you'll look good carrying it !!!!!

The best:  "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"  (There's just something about seeing such skewered "morals" through the eyes of a child) or "The Catcher in the Rye."

However, judging by your favorite books, I would recommend "Pride and Prejudice" or "Wuthering Heights."  Both are romance.

The latter is the very dark side of love--selfishness and lust.  It's a romance between two characters that are far from your average heroine and hero.  I loved this book, but I've met a lot of people that hated the spitefulness of this romance.

Pride and Prejudice is a fantastic story, and you'd probably fall in love with Mr. Darcy.
