Question:

Bosnian Bread Roll?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

About six years ago my parents and I went on a trip to Bosnia and had delicious bread rolls. They were light and airy with what I think was salt sprinkled on the top.

I know how to pronounce it's name (key-flah) but not how to spell it. Help?

And if anyone has a recipe for it I would be most grateful.

Thanks!

  1. 1/2 l warm milk

    1 pack yeast

    2 tsp salt

    1/2 tsp sugar

    2 spoons vinegar

    250 gr oil

    1kg flour

Mix everything together, let it for half hour to rest or until double-size, separate in 6 pcs, open each one in a round shape, cut each like a flower in 8 triangles, roll each one in a KIFLA shape, sprinkle with salt and bake on 180C until golden yellow.

You can also make a filling with feta cheese and eggs.

  2. They are called "kifla" - sort of like a croissant.
