I was thinking of going to Boston with my boyfriend. Well, his favorite team is the Red Sox so what better birthday gift to give him than tickets, right?! Do you think that is a good idea?

When does the new season start and when do they post the schedule for it? I was thinking of going in mid-march. How much do they usually go for?

  1. Good idea but a few things you need to know.

The current season is still going on so look for the new schedule in the winter sometime. Also baseball season doesn't start till April so that might be a problem. The price of the ticket will depend on how well they finish out this season but most likely it wont be cheap, they are one of the most popular teams in MLB.

  2. Your bF is another example of the boston bandwagon.  Dump him.

  3. Pinkhat please stay away from Fenway. Unless you're willing to shell out some serious mullah for a couple of tickets try catching them on the road!

  4. The Baseball season usually starts on April 1st. Im assuming youre talking about the 2009 season being that this season is just about 6 weeks from being over. There would be no sweeter gift then to get your BF tickets to Fenway. Tickets can get very pricey at Fenway. You will probably spend between $40-100 per ticket depending where you want to sit. Fenway sells out every game so you'll either have to scalp the tickets or get to the Fenway box office at 6am the day of the game.

By the way, where the h**l have you been all my life?? You sound like the coolest girlfriend ever. If things dont work out for your BF's BDAY....I'll go to Boston with you!!!!! lol

  5. Ignore the people who are talking about bandwagon and such.  How could they know?  Maybe your bf has been a fan forever.  There are few things in life that a Red Sox fan would cherish more, especially an out of town fan , than a couple of tickets to Fenway.  Go for it!

Here's a couple of other Sox related ideas...

In March the Sox are training in Fort Myers, Florida.  You could take him there.  Game information could be had next year around Feb 1.  They play at City of Palms stadium.  Check redsox.com for info.

For a fairly reasonable price you could go to mlb.com and buy him access on his computer to all broadcast games for the whole season.  Of course, broadband is required.  If he doesn't see the game live, every game is archived and available after the fact.  I think that was about $80.

For about twice that you could get the baseball pasckage from your cable or satellite provider.  No archives, but you can watch it on your TV rather than computer.
