  1. I've been boycotting Anheuser-Busch for years.  Because their beer sucks.  Go ahead, try something good instead.

  2. To JC: Inbev would lose big if there were a boycott but it is true the Busch family would not be nearly as affected as they no longer own Anheuser.

To Coach McGuirk: That's a great idea. As a St. Louis beer drinker, I recommend Schlafly's which is a good beer brewed by a smaller St. Louis based company.

I'll probably occasionally have a Bud, that is unless there is a strike or the teamsters are removed. I wouldn't mind being solely a Schlafly drinker. It was named St. Louis's Favorite Local Brewery again this year.

  3. I agree with you however I do not drink Bud - i could care less really - but i do know that alot of people are upset about this and yes i do support that...

  4. i'm done with A.B. myself.  I'll be drinking schlafly's from now on.   What a sad day.  Although you can't blame the stockholder's i just hate to see this happen to A.B.

  5. Well good for you. Now try this

and find what beer really tastes like. If anything Those crafty Belgians will make a real beer out of A.B.  By consuming local you not only keep the money in America but you keep it in your state. So go enjoy some local crafted brew and stick to your words this time "from this day forward"

  6. Hellz yeah

  7. like shiner bock. its from texas. good stuff.

  8. I'm sure they'll miss your business. I'm sure you'll never drink another Bud again.

Use this as an opportunity to try some quality, locally brewed beer.

  9. US brewing giant Anheuser-Busch agreed to a $50 billion takeover by Belgium-based InBev NV, which in turn will create the world's largest beer maker. Anheuser-Busch was started 148 years back in St. Louis, when Eberhard Anheuser bought Bavarian Brewery in 1860. Later on, his son-in-law Adolphus Busch took over and then began the Busch family’s dominance. InBev was formed when Leuven-based Interbrew SA bought Sao Paulo- based Cia.de Bebidas das Americas, or AmBev, in an $11 billion transaction. Its portfolio includes more than 200 brands.

This takeover comes after a month of court fights and public disputes over the future of Anheuser-Busch. InBev’s improved purchase offer of 70-dollar-a-share has put an end to their hostility. Three months earlier, it had offered 65-dollar-a-share. Once this deal gains regulatory approval, it would be the largest in alcoholic drink history and the second biggest of a U.S. consumer-goods company. The combined company will be called Anheuser-Busch InBev. The combination of Anheuser-Busch and InBev will create the global leader in the beer industry and one of the world's top five consumer products companies. It would offer consumers about 300 brands, including Anheuser's Budweiser and Bud Light and InBev's Stella Artois and Beck's.

The company will make St. Louis, Missouri the headquarters for the North American region and the global home of the flagship Budweiser brand. Anheuser-Busch will get two seats on the new company's board, its current president and CEO August Busch IV and another current or former director from the Anheuser-Busch Board.

The expanded company will aim to have leading positions in the world's top five markets - China, U.S., Russia, Brazil and Germany and balanced exposure to developed and developing markets. The transaction will create significant profit potential both in terms of cost savings and revenue enhancement.

  10. Who else is owned in the US?  Coors?  Millers isn't right?

I can boycott them - the whole 5 beers a year I purchase to make beer bread.

No really - i hate beer!

  11. I and my family will never buy or consume another inbev A.B.product again. what a sad day in Americas history!

  12. to the people who think coors/miller are american owned ck out who owns them!! as for craft beer ive been drinkin scaffly beer for about 5 years.i also drink the local ales and lagers from the breweries in the springfield/branson,mo area, there are 3 so far with another two in the works not counting columbia and kc and northern ark.,so seein as i quit buyin ab c**p a long time ago i guess im doin pretty good

  13. Sorry dude, if it was family owned then loyalty is one thing.

As a public company, they have an obligation to the stock holder, not an american ideal.   In the long run it will be better for bud.

But of course this would NEVER have happened if they had kept Dale Jr.

  14. Lots of help that will do.

    They're getting 52 BILLION BUCKS!

Do you really think they give 2 sheets if we boycott them or not?

    Be real.

  15. I think it would be great if a massive 1 day boycott of not purchasing any A-B products happened but it would need to happen before the FTC approves the sale. That way the shareholders would see that there could be and impact from the common people. What would In-Bev think if they saw a day before their purchase where almost no product was sold??

  16. I agree... I'm switching to Coors / Coors Light.
