I had just gotten my braces on a month ago and they are starting to hurt. Why? Are they rotting or are they just hurting because they are moving in to place. HELP ME!!!

  1. Your teeth are just hurting because your braces are moving them.

  2. Your're okay your teeth are just moving. Make sure you're brushing and flossing

  3. Soreness is never a fun thing.......but it is a sign of SUCCESS !!      Soreness is starting to happen to you now because your teeth are finally giving in......and letting the braces move them to a more straight location.    Try to keep in mind   " Pain means Gain ",     soreness means you are making progress,  although progress can still be happening even when the pain is gone.

Sometimes soreness means your teeth are moving faster than before,  which is always a good sign.    Don't let the discomfort get you down,   pamper yourself with soft foods,  pain medication when needed,  and remember if you are being a good brusher,   your teeth are not rotting.

Your smile will be worth it in the end.......hang in there !

  4. don't worry, your teeth aren't rotting. when they start to move more quickly part of the root is exposed, making it more sensitive. it will get better with time. if it bugs you too much, over the counter pain meds might help.

  5. Your teeth are moving, your gums are sore and the braces are still "foreign" - this is all normal. They aren't rotting!!! Nobody says that having braces is easy or pain-free! If the pain is really intense, take 2 ibuprofen to take the edge off (or Tylenol, Advil - whatever you're comfortable with). I used to get awful headaches when my braces were tightened - it's just sore and uncomfortable.

But think of how GORGEOUS your smile will be when it's all over - it's SO worth it!!!
