Question:

Break making noise?

When i driving at high speed on highway, my left rear break is making some kind of noise (not often) like " link, link,.., nik, nik, or kik, kikkk ". I checked the break and around the disk and could not find any loosing bolts or touching metal parts. The noise is louder and keep on going when i step on the break. But driving on the street at low speed (35 to 40), it does not making any noise. I checked the break fluid and break pad every thing is fine. Does any one know what could be the problem to this?

  1. you have 4 wheel disc brakes..my guess is the vehicle you have has shoe slippers...look like tiny break shoes on the inside of you rear rotors they are actuated by the e-break. sounds like one of shoe-slippers broke off or a piece of hardware gave out.  just a possibility.

  2. Time to take the vehicle to an auto repair shop and have a full brake inspection, sound like a possible emergency brake part  rubbing, pretty hard to tell without road testing the vehicle
