Question:

Breast size after breastfeeding

I have heard different stories. I'm curious what some peoples experience has been regarding the size of breast after breastfeeding. I've heard some people say that they stay big. Some people say they go back to their original size and some have even said they get smaller than before they were pregnant.

  1. I looked forward to my DD's going down...but they swelled when I was pregnant...and went back to DD's after.

  2. My sister's were massive when she was pregnant and breastfeeding but shrunk after she stopped. I'm not sure if they are back to her original size or smaller.

While I was breastfeeding I didn't notice too many changes, maybe a slightly fuller size (but when I gain weight it goes to my chest anyway) and after I stopped they seemed to be around the same size. However, as I said, when I gain weight I gain weight there, and when I lose weight it comes of my chest too. So everyone is different! I have noticed them a little more fuller this time (my 2nd pregnancy). All the best :)

  3. It depends on the woman. When breastfeeding, the b*****s swell a lot. They usually go back to normal later, though. They may be a little droopy, though.

  4. I breastfed for 5 1/2 months, and my breast were HUGE while breastfeeding. D cup...

Now 4 months later, my breast have NO life, they are paper thin, no umfph! haha B cup

    everyone is different though

  5. All of those stories you heard are true for some women...

In my case I went from a 34A to a 36B after breastfeeding was well over.  During the breastfeeding times I blossomed to a 36C.  But I must tell you my b*****s just aren't the same even though they are a little bigger they are kinda stretchy looking at times.  Now after my 2nd child my areolas cave in a bit when I lift up my arms.  Use plenty of moisturising creams before, during and especially after is the only advice I can think of.

I hope this is not a deterrent to you or anyone else--I think breastfeeding is the best thing you can do for your child.  If I had another kid, I would do it again.   When your childbearing time is surely over, you can consult a plastic surgeon if you want "perfect" b*****s again ;)
