Breeding Racers?

Question

I'm not intending on just buying and breeding.

Does anyone here have experience in Thoroughbred breeding and racing? If so... can someone point out some guidelines and maybe some links that I can read about breeding Thoroughbred horses that are fit for racing? I'm very familiar with dog breeding but I know it's not the same....

What makes a horse fast? Conformation and training....

even if you breed the two greatest horses in the world, youre not guarenteed to have a champion or even a race winner. alot of the breeding racehorses is based on luck and of course money. its pointless breeding two horses with no quality.
