Question:

Breeding White Winters Hamsters?

I have a nice baby (11/2-2 month old) male white winter dwarf hamster. He is healthy and very sweet. I have read A LOT about breeding hamsters and know a lot now. I got him from a REALLY good pets plus in Pennsylvania (forgot what the city was called but my cous lives in it) that ALWAYS has nice healthy animals. I don't wanna breed for money just to have the cute little babies around and give them to my friends or keep some. I was going to ask if the pets plus or pet smart near me will take some too.

So any tips? I already read 4 different websites on breeding.

  1. Ok well you are smart not to just breed for nothin and what you need is soft cotten bedding and put in in a wood box or something in its cage then just leave the two hamsters be if you see fighting remove the male into a different cage and if they do have babies remove the male and but him in a cage inside the cage that the mom is in so they can still see each other but the male cant kill the babies and put a small blanket over half the side of the moms cage leave them alone and they should live

if the mom doesnt accept the babies bring the babies to a petco or another pet store that keeps the animals alive and healthy ask if you can have a couple of the babies and give them a couple also so the store also gets rewarded with some babies to nurture and sell to another loving family!
