  1. Water temp of 80-82 degrees F, condition in separate tanks, preferably with live foods.  Should be spawned in a 10 gallon tank, where male has been kept.  Add female after nest is well built.

  2. A pearl gourami and a golden gourami will not breed with each other. You need male and females of the same type to breed. Gourami's are quite hard to breed. Water conditions must be perfect.

  3. Add some floating plants to your aquarium. Lillies work well, but preferably a plant that will cover a large area of the tank. The plant needs to have roots that reach the gravel as they will provide safe anchorage. Increase the water temp to a minimum of 24 Degrees, as this encourages mating behaviour.

When the bubble nest is produced by the male, the female will add the eggs, then the male will fertilise them. Remove the female from the tank so that she doesn't get attacked by the Territorial male, as she will be tempted to eat them. Try not to disturb the water's surface too much once the nest is made, as the current will destroy the nest. Separate the fry once they are born from the tank.

If the female is already pregnant, remove the Pearl Gourami from the tank.

    Good Luck x*x
