  1. I used to breed my own and I would often have about three females per male. Usually the first litter is small, 6 to 8, but after that they tend to be bigger, close to 10 or more. My biggest litter ever was 17 babies and I had 16 twice. The first week they are pinkies. At one week of age, they are fuzzies. At two weeks of age, their eyes open and they are hoppers. They can be weaned at three to four weeks of age and are considered adults at 4 weeks of age. The female is pregnant for a month and then nurses the babies for almost a month, so Imy females would give birth every other month. Just make sure the enclosure stays clean to reduce stress. I never had any problems with the mothers eating their babies and the males never bothered the babies either. I fed them alot of protein, mainly dog food. Breeding mice is pretty easy. They have plenty of babies and they grow quickly.

  2. If you only have one snake, a pair of mice should be sufficient. Keep in mind though if your snake requires a large size for example weaner or adult mice, you might be better of getting two females to make up for the time it takes to grow.

Try to get your hands on a 10 gallon tank, or you could even buy a cheap plastic tub and put flyscreen over the top.

[ 1 ] The gestation (pregnancy) period is 21 days

    [ 2 ] Average litter size is 6 - 8

[ 3 ] The female goes into heat again about 12 hours after she gives birth to a litter, so is capable of getting pregnant. If she is not mated with in that time, she next goes into heat about 3 weeks later when her original litter is nearly weaned.

    [ 4 ] Pinky = 1 to 4 days old, Fuzzy = 7 to 10 days old, Hopper = 15 to 18 days old, Weaner = 21 to 25 days old

    Hope this helps!

  3. mice need space to move and play just like your snakes. getting a 10 gal, with one male and two females is what you would want to do. get a simple little house, wheel. food dish, water bottle, a big bag of none cedar or pine bedding.there are bags of substrate at petco for like 15 bucks for 64 litters or sumthin like that. and just stick with the fortidiet and give them benavac(might as well keep the breeders happy and healthy) now how long it takes for them to grow, i would say a couple of weeks.

  4. this site gave some nice numbers and good advice

  5. ok. if you want high volume you could have more then one female. Male mouses dont care about having more then one female. I would... take the male into his own tank... and put the females to their own. Then... you can take the male to visit... and keep them seperate. As far as how many... it is not a certin amount. Normally between 1 baby and 20 babies per mouse. A mouse is born blind deaf and nakid... (pinkies) and then at about 1.5 weeks can see and have hair (fuzzies) and are mature enough to make babies at about 3 weeks. I might be a lil off on my timing, its been a while since i had a hamster, but im sure the timing is about right. If you do this, i would make sure that you get the males and females seperate once the babies can leave the mama... Brothers and sisters WILL make babies, and the sons will make babies with momma daddy will make babies with his daughters... so i would honestly... be really careful. Talk to the petstore in the area and tell them you wanna make your own breeding program and tell them that you will bring the babies into them so they might not have to buy so many. Ask them if they would take you dropping some off once in a while. They might let you. Either that or find some people who might take the babies... before you start!
