Brewers tailspin outta control??

My last question got deleted, dont really know why, I was wondering to you brewer fans out there how you are feeling right now? My cardinals were in the same position last week, and I know i was panicking. if you guys get swept by the cubs that would be bad, like we got swept by you. Although there is light at the end of the tunnel b/c you guys get to beat up on the lowly braves like the cardinals are doing right now. If you guys cannot take the series from the braves, then i would say there might be some trouble. What are brewer fans thinking? there is still a lot of ball to be played, and the brewers have the easiest schedule of all three teams (cards cubs brewcrew) but if they keep pitching like they have done in the last few days they might be in trouble. what you think?

  1. I think the Brewers will win the NL wild card

  2. I'm a Cardnals fan but I don't think losing 3 games constitutes a tailspin.

  3. Everybody needs to relax. Nowadays, thanks to ESPN and talk radio, fans think a three game losing streak means the season is over. It means nothing, except they lost three games in a row in July. There's two months left to play.

  4. I too am a Cards fan who was panicking a bit last week but feeling a bit better this week.  Of course until we see Izzy back in a save situation, there is no reason to get feeling too good.  We also will see what happens today with any potential trades.

I don't think the Brewers themselves have any reason to panic because there is a lot of ball to play.  But maybe this will help Brewers fans realize something I think Cardinal fans have realized all along - that the Cubs ARE the best team in the division.

I live in Dubuque where there are almost an equal number of Cubs, Cards, and Brewers fans and I have been to games at Busch and Miller Park.  I think Brewer fans seriously overrate their team.  These fans equate Manny Para as a legitimate ace, J.J. Hardy as the equal of Hanley Ramirez and on and on.  I mean just look at how they stuffed the All-Star vote for Corey Hart when David Wright and Carlos Lee were clearly better choices.

They are a good team with good players that still has to be the favorite in the Wild Card over the Cardinals, but they are not the slam dunk choice.  Heck, the second place team in the NL East is also going to be a true contender for that final playoff spot.

As someone who has NEVER rooted for the Cubs, it has been an interesting feeling as I have been the whole series, because I know the Cardinals have a better chance outlasting the Brewers than the Cubs.

  5. With all that winning they were doing, it was bound to be halted by a loss. However, Im sure they didnt expect to lose the series against The Cubs as they have. No contest. Their SP was way off. Their offense asleep. If they are going to contend seriously, they will have to put this series behind them, and get back on track. Plenty of time left to take the division, and /or, Wild Card.
