beka talks about how she won the essay contest and wants to have a wake for toycie but canot have in because of hardtimes beka lies alot about how she passed first form and even things like sweeping the porch toycie tries to influence beka in becoming an independant woman who would not tell lies again but toycie is really not a great role model as she was tricked by her boyfriend and ended up becoming pregnant she soons kill herself and beka promised toycie that she would have a wake for her]
toyce is a well musically talented guitar player
