  1. I hope to see you there, my first bristol race, thanks to a season ticket holder.  We are staying in a hotel about 60 miles away though, that kind of stinks.

When i started looking two weeks ago, any place to stay in the immediate area was booked.

  2. Good Luck with that. I have been trying to go there for many years. I just don't want to go in debt to have a good time. I had a friend who got his tickets off ebay. And now when the people can not go they just email him and he buys the tickets. That is how I go to Richmond every race. Made friends with a season ticket holder and I get at least 2 tickets. Nascar.com does have a place to buy packages also. Good luck with your search.

  3. At the back of NASCAR Scene, they have lists and list of race packages, including as much as you want- car, room, pit passes, etc. Check it out.

  4. I've went to the Sharpie 500 the last two years, and let me tell you...finding a hotel (at least anywhere near the track) is almost impossible.  I'd recommend camping at the Hicks Whitetop Campground, which is directly across from the track.  It's cheap, like $100 for a tent spot and it doesn't matter if you stay 1 night or all week.

As for tickets, I always get mine from Ebay, but if you don't get any beforehand, you can buy them at the track/campgrounds/in town.  People line up and down the streets selling tickets, they post signs in their campers, or at the bathhouses with tickets for sale.

I've never done any of the race packages/bus trips, so I cannot comment on them.  Good luck and have fun!  (Wish I was going again this year!)

  5. Bristol tickets, especially August Bristol tickets, are hard to come by.  There is a waiting list!  The ones available for sale are typically sold by season ticket holders/renewals.  Be prepared to pay quite a bit.  I know last summer, pairs of tickets could go for well over 1K on eBay.

I just checked eBay and it looks like you can get 2 tickets for about $300-500.  Of course, no auctions are ending soon, so I am not sure how high they will go.

As for hotels, you may be hard pressed to find one.  It is short notice for a big race.  And, there are not many options compared to other tracks (like Charlotte, Daytona, etc...).  You might want to check Craigslist to see if someone is renting out rooms or their house.

  6. Raceaway Hospitality still has Bristol packages available.. It's highly unusual because these normally sell out quickly.  The provide 2 nights hotel, bus transport, tickets and a Cup Day Hospitality Tent.  I used them for the 2007 Spring race at Bristol and was very satisfied.
