Broadway auditions in new york

well i'm going to new york and i want to audition for something is there any auditions for the dates of august 11-13 for kids around the ages of 11-15

ps my sister is 11 i'm 13!

  1. There aren't really any parts on Broadway which you're suited for at the moment; Jane Banks in Mary Poppins is 11 so your sister might be suitable for that, but at 13 you're too old.  Billy Elliot you're also a bit old for as Debbie and the ballet girls are all around 11 years of age.  And if you're white, then the Lion King is out also.

  3. Are you an Equity member? I suspect not or you wouldn't be asking about this. You cannot audition for or perform on Broadway (even if you are a kid) unless you are a member of Equity, which is the actors' union. Generally people get auditions through their agents. Occasionally there will be "open calls" for Broadway shows which anyone can attend but they are relatively unusual. Additionally, if someone who is not a member of Equity goes to an Equity audition, they may possibly be seen if there is time, but that is up to the casting director and there is no guarantee. As the person above told you, look in Backstage and on Playbill.com for upcoming auditions.
