Brodeur!!!!?

Anyone else glad that brodeur won the veznia? i am glad, i watched him all year, and i thought he was deserving, especially with the team he had in front of him. i thoink that if marty had the sharks in front of him, he would have 50+ wins. i thought nabby had a great year, however, i am not seeing brodeur age

if that's the case, then why not give the norris to brett lebda? he played defense for the greatest team in the league?!

the trophies are given out to great individual effort. not team effort.... and brodeur's effort wasn't worthy of this trophy this season.

I think he did deserve it because he brought victory to a team that fell apart with the departure of gomez and rafalski. even though we brought in guys like Brice and Salvador it still didn't have the same effect as gomez and Rafalski had on the team. Sure Johnny Oduja stepped up in a couple of games but wasn't as consistent as Rafalski or Niedermyer (Sp?) As for Centers Patty couldn't get the whole wining the draw thing down as Gomer did.  Also look at his games played, what did he rest? 4 games out of 82 correct me if I'm wrong.  On top of that look at his age, he is going to retire soon and tell me what goalie can pull off 40+ win seasons for the past 10 seasons (again correct me if im wrong) If nabby was at his age he would be a great contender,I'll give him some props for coming back the next game after his cage broken on the island

I guess they based this year's vezina on the careers of the players. I really dont think Brodeur deserved it this time. If anything, it was either Lundqvist or Nabokov who deserved it.

FOR SURE Brodeur deserved it.

There has not been a better goalie since '95.

sorry stats may not be the deciding factor, but if they were, YOU STILL have to give him top consideration. Especially the team he had to work with this year.

Nabokov had better stats than Brodeur 3 of the 4 main Goaltender categories (Wins, G.AA and Shutouts).

As a Devils fan, I am glad, though I still feel he didn't deserve it.  This was a sub-par season by both him and the Devils.  However, he was by far the Devils best player and the only reason that the team stayed afloat during the season.

I must admit I'm a Devils fan but I am in almost every way ANTI rangers and I think if it didn't go to Brodeur it should have gone to Lundqvist. He was AMAZING this year.

I do think Brodeur deserved it though. He may not have had the best stats, but look at the team he had playing infront of him this year . If not for Elias and Parise I dont think they would have managed to be 4th in the EC. In the first round of the Playoffs, they forgot how to even play as a team, the only game they won was the game they actually had someone on the net prepared to score.

Based on how the goalies did based on all factors Brodeur more then deserved it. Throw him in the new with the Rangers or Sharks team and his stats would have been 10 times better. The devils were NOT at their best this year.
