  1. Laptops are expensive.. To play safe, buy a new charger. Confirm that the charger is really dead. Although we can troubleshoot and replace parts of that charger just to satisfy that we can do it, and make it work.. But its always better to buy a new one that comes from strict factory quality inspection. Malfunctioning charger, may damage your battery and worst if there are freak charges that may jump into the motherboard and burn your processor, bios, RAM..So, get a known good charger. Its like "go to Iraq with a repaired rifle, no way! its my life, I should have a brand new rifle." Well laptop cost $600 plus and charger is only $20.
