Is there another way of finding out what people have looked up on the internet with out looking at the browsing history ?

Yes - you will need to access the lesser known log files that Windows keeps (the "index.dat" files). Search for "index.dat" on your computer, you will need to download a tool like Super WinSpy to view them.
