  1. Bubble tea is just a mixture of boiled and swelled tapioca and tea. The powdered flavor you are thinking might be the powdered tea and the flavor you have on powdered tea is lemon.

If you want to make bubble tea, buy a package of tapioca. Boil about 2 liters of water then add tapioca and stir well. Let it boil again and take the tapioca and boiling water of the heat. Let stand for 5 minutes and put the tapioca in a colander and run cool water on it.

The tapioca will swell like those you buy from bubble tea stand in 3-4 days continually changing the water.

After 3 or 4 days, boil enough water again and put the tapioca in the boiling water. Stir well while waiting the water to boil again and take off the heat.

The second boiling of water is to stabilize and cooks the tapioca thoroughly and run again with cool running water and it’s ready to eat. You can mix it with cool-aid, juice or any flavor you want or tea. Store in the fridge with enough water as the tapioca will only stop swelling when it is crystal clear in the inside of the tapioca.

  2. that's more of a question for slushes/snow bubbles. i prefer the syrup.
